Description
During my photo shoot in and around Beaufort County, NC, I came across these interesting sculptures near downtown. The town of Washington, NC (known locally as Little Washington) is a quaint waterfront area in the eastern part of the state. Washington is famous for Bill's Hot Dogs, Pamela's Soda Shop, and many other mom and pop places. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. It's a great location for a family outing, a solo trip, or even can be part of a romantic get-away.
I learned about this historic area of the state because it's where my boyfriend grew up. I enjoyed seeing his hometown and having an insider's view on places to visit and things to do. I decided to learn more about these sculptures and in doing so I realized that there is still a lone crab out there somewhere that I still need to take the picture of as I only have 4 of the 6 crabs mentioned.
"In 2006 the city of Washington funded an outdoor art project called Crabs On The Move. Large fiberglass crabs were installed throughout the city. Most have been relocated but six can still be found downtown on various corners, principally along Main Street." (source Road Side America)
